Fossilized Wrasse

Fossilized palate (upper tooth grinding plate) of an ancient reef-dwelling wrasse fish. A reef dwelling fish found around the world with incredibly strong teeth which they use to pull mollusks and barnacles off the rocks, it the large plate in the back of the throat that crush shells and allow them to digest the food. It is these plates that were found fossilized on the Madura Island of Indonesia.

The industrious Indonesian's have discovered that when ground down these fossil have a beautiful pattern not unlike snake skin. This material is extremely rare and rough is pretty much "Unobtainium".
